And above all these [compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, bearing, and forgiving] put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
– Colossians 3:14, 12-3 (ESV)
God, He who is Love, invites us to make love the cornerstone of our lives. When we make love the motive for everything we do, everything will always work out for the better, to serve God’s greater glory. Without love, our deeds are useless. Being compassionate, being kind, being humble, being meek, being patience, being bearing, and being forgiving – all of these become mere, empty shadows when there is no substance of love within them.
A social enterprise – CSR 2.0 – cannot be truly a pursuant of the common good if the social entrepreneur, the individual, himself does not do so in everything he does – CSR 3.0. This is BCYF’s way of living out what St. Paul has taught in this verse. Let us then make the conscious effort to be good citizens who can sustain our efforts for social responsibility and, ultimately, the will of God.
Happy Sunday!
